BEIJING: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry and Chinese Minister of Supervision and Inspection Huang Shuxian signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on Tuesday for increased cooperation in fighting corruption.
The MoU was signed after a bilateral meeting between the two countries.
Chaudhry is on an official visit to Peoples Republic of China. He said that signing of the MOU between Pakistan and China was significant in the backdrop of increasing economic and trade cooperation between the two countries. “There is a resolve by both the governments to work in a fair, impartial and corruption-free environment in order to share their experiences to eradicate corruption. China is Pakistan’s true friend and long-standing ties between Pakistan and China have been mutually supportive. The cooperation between the two friendly countries in anti-corruption work will be further enhanced,” he said.
Both sides termed the MoU a huge step forward and a new dimension in the existing brotherly relations between the two countries. The Chinese authorities appreciated the excellent progress made by NAB under the dynamic leadership of Qamar Zaman Chaudhry.
