ISLAMABAD: Chief of Air Staff (CAS) of Pakistan Air Force Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan received guard of honour upon his arrival at General Head Quarters (GHQ) on Tuesday.
During a change of command ceremony, former Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman who retired on 19th of March pinned new rank on Air Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan.
During the meeting at Rawalpindi, COAS congratulated the Air Chief on assumption of prestigious appointment and expressed his best wishes for enhancing existing coordination amongst the sister services. Air Chief reiterated his resolve to maintain synergy for the defence of Pakistan.
Later on, CAS Khan laid a floral wreath at the Shuhada Monument of GHQ.
Newly appointed Chief of the Air Staff of Pakistan Air Force, Mujahid Anwar Khan met Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi at the office of Prime Minister on Tuesday.
Discussion involved matters of Pakistan Air Force. Prime Minister congratulated the Air Chief on his promotion. He expressed hope that Pakistan Air Force would get benefit from his capabilities and leadership. Air Chief Marshal thanked Prime Minister for reposing confidence and trust in him. He assured that he would perform best of his abilities for strengthening air defense of the country.
Federal Minister of Defense Khurram Dastgir Khan also congratulated the Air Chief in their meeting. They discussed strategic and security challenges that are currently being faced by the country. Defense Minister offered his support on indigenization, modernization, and advancement of training operations of Pakistan Air Force. “PAF is fully vigilant on all frontiers and will prevail against all enemies as Pakistan’s first line of defense,” Air Chief assured.
The Air Chief also met Chiefs of Staff Committee General Zubair Mahmood Hayat, who assured full confidence in him at Joint Staff Headquarters in Rawalpindi. General Zubair Mahmood Hayat praised Pakistan Air Force in the aerial defense and admired their performance in war against terrorism.
